GET TRAINED
Receive 2 weeks of in-class employment skills training, tailored to individual needs, with flexible scheduling.
Employment-skills training can include (but not limited to):
Transferable skills, self-awareness, workplace skills
Emotional Behaviours at Work (EBW)
CPR/First Aid, WHMIS, Forklift, Smart Serve, and more
*Paid bonus upon completion
BUILD SKILLS
Access financial supports for occupation-specific skills training that align with current labour market demands and provides a license or certificate upon successful completion.
Specific skills training can include (but not limited to):
Heavy Equipment Operator
AZ/DZ
Personal Support Worker
Gas Tech
FIND WORK
Once job ready, gain experience through a paid work placement and receive continuous support with coaching and mentorship through our Integrated Employment Services.
These services, along with retention support upon hire, will ensure a smooth transition that can lead into meaningful and long-term employment.

Eligibility Requirements
Participants of the program must be:
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive)
A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
Legally entitled to work in Canada;
Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
Out of school, work, and training.

Christina’s Journey:
A Personal Transformation
Christina had limited hope of finding meaningful employment or achieving career success in a field she truly loves. She had struggled with work for a long time and was skeptical that anything could change. But everything did when she entered the Agilec Employable YOU program.
Through a combination of in-class employment skills training and targeted, job-market-aligned courses, Employable YOU helps youth aged 15–30 build the skills and experience they need to confidently enter the workforce. After completing the Employment Skills Training component, Christina discovered an online course that would allow her to pursue a career in veterinary services – her long-time passion. Since enrolling in the course, she has excelled academically, maintaining a grade average in the high 90s. Her dedication and enthusiasm have also led her to secure a practicum placement with a local veterinary office, which she will begin upon completing her in-class training.
Beyond the academic and career milestones, Christina has experienced a deep personal transformation. In her own words:
“I was skeptical going into the Employable You Program as I’ve struggled with work for a long time before this. Going into this program was the best thing to ever happen to me. Through this program, I’ve been able to go back to school, have ongoing support while attending school, and be able to believe in achieving a career and future I never thought possible. I had lost all hope of finding meaningful or impactful employment that I enjoyed. I am grateful beyond words for this opportunity and support.”

Courtney’s Journey:
Determination Meets Direction
As a single mother for over eight years, Courtney had grown used to simply getting by – focused on her children and unsure of her own future. When she joined Agilec’s Employable YOU – a program designed to empower youth with employment skills, education, and work experience – she had limited prospects and little clarity about her next steps. What she did have was determination and a new support system behind her – and that made all the difference.
Through the program, Courtney discovered a wealth of transferable skills she hadn’t realized she possessed. With support and encouragement from the program, Courtney found the confidence to reflect on her passions and envision a new path, realizing her dream to build a career working with children.
Courtney faced her fears head-on, challenging herself to grow and step outside her comfort zone. Today, she is excelling in the Early Childhood Education program at Fanshawe College and is on track to graduate in the spring of 2026. She looks forward to a future in childcare and early development – a field that brings her joy and a deep sense of purpose.
Courtney is proud of how far she’s come, and deeply grateful for the transformation made possible through the Employable YOU program.

“My whole life has changed. I felt like I was at a dead end and there was no hope that I’d be able to return to school or enter the workforce in a way that was meaningful to me. I have been a single mom just trying to get by for over 8 years. Being able to pursue professional goals while raising my children is something I never thought possible. Now, I am doing just that and showing my children that we can do hard things and pursue our dreams.”
