Unique Minds Child Care Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team. Our educators support the planning and implementation of a play-based, child-centred emergent curriculum inspired by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014).

Our Programs
We provide care for children 18 months – 12 years, including:
- Toddler Program
- Preschool Program
- Before and After School Program
- P.D. Day Camp
- Summer Camp
- March Break Camp
We proudly serve families in Lucknow and surrounding communities at our two childcare locations.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and in good standing
- Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
- Safe Food Handler Certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hiring)
Skills - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of best practices in early childhood education
- Proficient computer skills
- Knowledge of HDLH and ELECT frameworks
- Ability to plan and implement programs based on children’s interests and developmental needs
- Skilled in creating pedagogical documentation
Schedule - Full-Time Position
- Rotating 9-hour shifts
- 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Shifts scheduled between 6:45 AM – 5:30 PM
Additional Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Driver’s licence and access to a vehicle considered an asset (two childcare locations)

Key Job Responsibilities
- Provide daily provocations and invitations to play based on children’s interests and document learning through pedagogical documentation in alignment with How Does Learning Happen?
- Maintain toys and equipment in good working order, including regular sanitization and proper storage, while keeping storage areas safe and organized
- Ensure playrooms and educational materials are organized, maintained, and arranged in a calm, inspiring, home-like environment
- Develop and implement indoor and outdoor play-based learning experiences
Create positive learning environments where children can explore, problem solve, investigate, and engage in uninterrupted play, including opportunities for singing, reading, and creative activities - Communicate daily with families, including answering phone calls, taking messages, documenting information, and maintaining supportive and unbiased relationships with parents/guardians
- Perform daily playground inspections, maintain documentation records, and report any concerns to the supervisor or manager
- Plan and supervise daily outdoor activities and ensure playground areas remain safe for children
- Administer medication when authorized by parents/guardians in accordance with centre policies and procedures
- Assist with open houses, staff meetings, special events, and centre activities when required
- Support and supervise daily routines including washroom routines, meal times, sleep routines, and daily checklists in accordance with centre policies
- Ensure all activity areas remain safe and free from hazards
- Follow legal obligations to report any suspected physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or neglect (Duty to Report)
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all children, families, and centre operations
- Ensure children are released only to authorized individuals listed on their emergency contact list unless otherwise approved and verified with identification
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor
