Library Programmer & Assistant
John M. Harper Branch / Full-Time Permanent / 35 hours per week
We’re searching for an individual with experience creating and leading programs and events to join our team! Someone with the ability to take an idea from conception and bring it to life. A creative team player who is committed to an inclusive and accessible approach to building connections and sharing learning experiences with our diverse community. Sound like you?
What You’ll Do:

Conceive, create, facilitate and evaluate effective programs and events across all ages in a variety of formats, including in-person, virtually and on/off site.

Assist with initiating and fostering community partner relationships. Represent the library in the community through various events.

Act as person in charge (PIC) at branch locations.

Assist customers in the library with reader’s advisory, reference, and in-library technology.

Assist with the hiring and mentoring of summer students.
What We’re Looking For:

Collaborative, team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with developing and leading programs in a diverse environment across various ages.

Excellent tech literacy and desire for continuous learning.

Flexible with scheduling to accommodate programs and events and ability travel to various locations in Waterloo.

Minimum college diploma plus 2 years of related experience. Child Development, Recreation & Leisure, or Human Services studies are preferred.
