GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Ngwaagan Gamig Recovery Centre Inc. (NGRC Inc.) is an accredited organization that is growing and expanding and has an opening for an Administrative Support.  The Administrative Support is a member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for performing duties, activities, and assignments within the vision and mission of NGRC Inc.

Our beautiful recovery centre is located on the Unceded Territory of Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island and is dedicated to the delivery of culturally based addictions treatment and prevention services.

Usual work hours will be day shift, Monday to Friday, although some extended hours may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with Health and Safety measures and quality improvements
  • Maintain processes of communication of programs and services to community
  • Answer inquiries from clients, community, stakeholders
  • Data entry for statistical information collected and client applications with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Coordinate and maintain essentials for website and email access points
  • Ensure administrative tasks are scheduled and executed
  • Coordinate service provision of equipment and IT needs
  • Prepare, review, and format correspondence, reports, and presentations, as required
  • Compile evaluations and maintain organized electronic filing of records
  • Assist in gathering data for reports, correspondence, and research, as requested by Executive Director
  • Support management and team in guiding workplan delivery of all approved projects
  • Assist with establishing improvements to processes and procedures as per accreditation standards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, or related field and knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Must demonstrate qualities of a positive role model for the Anishinaabe community and adhere to the Code of Ethics
  • Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture, language, and issues is an asset
  • Knowledge of the services and programs within Ngwaagan Gamig Recovery Centre Inc.
  • Must demonstrate good interpersonal
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong working knowledge of administrative, IT solutions, social media platforms and communications, documentation and statistical records, and secretarial duties
  • Experience in troubleshooting IT solutions and willingness to assist with connecting with outside contractors
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other electronic software applications
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License and current CPR and First Aid training
  • Must submit a current criminal reference check with a vulnerable sector screen (CPIC-VSC)
