From Veterans Affairs Canada

Program will focus on helping Veterans and their families find a meaningful career after their military service.

February 14, 2018 – Ottawa – Veterans Affairs Canada

The Government of Canada recognizes the important role that a meaningful career plays in an individual’s overall personal and professional growth and success. That is why it is vital to ensure that measures are in place to assist those who have served and sacrificed so much for Canada.

Veterans Affairs Canada’s Career Transition Services (CTS) program, redesigned in Budget 2017 will launch on April 1st, 2018 and will assist Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, spouses/common-law partners and survivors with services such as career counselling, job-placement and job-finding assistance. This is an important part of the Government’s ongoing commitment to provide programs and services that support Veteran and family well-being.

During their service, Veterans develop skills and assets from first-class military training and experience. We want to help them leverage these assets and achieve their new post-military life goals. All Veterans who use VAC’s current Career Transition Services will be contacted by the Department about the newly redesigned CTS and how it will offer even more transitional support to Veterans.

On December 12, 2017, a $10.3 million contract was awarded by Public Services and Procurement Canada on behalf of Veterans Affairs Canada for the delivery of the redesigned CTS program. The contract was awarded to Agilec, of Oshawa, Ontario and will run for approximately 43 months.
