Termination Assistance
We provide expert guidance and support throughout the process, ensuring everything is handled professionally and with compassion – for both the organization and the impacted employee(s).
Pre-Termination Planning
- Organize and plan notification meetings, including support for delivering the message.
- Provide Human Resources/Management team with a Termination Checklist for preparation.
- Discuss key considerations such as timing and meeting location to ensure a respectful and thoughtful process.
- Prepare for potential emotional reactions and risk of escalation.
Termination Assistance
- Help normalize emotional response and review mental health supports available through E(F)AP/community – include printouts.
- Provide guidance to the displaced employee on how to share the news with family and friends – include printout.
- Explain the outplacement package and introduce the customization of career transition services to suit the individual’s needs.
- Arrange to have individual gather their personal belongings and leave the building in an expedited manner – with dignity and grace.
- Coordinate the return of company property, whether on-site or from home.
- Ensure safe travel arrangements for the individual to return home.
- Schedule a follow-up – a friendly ‘touch-in’ to revisit key points above and ensure well-being.
Post-Termination Support
We provide one-on-one/group support for remaining employees to maintain trust, boost morale, and ensure staff productivity.
