National AccessAbility Week is wrapping up but it doesn’t end here. This year’s theme “Disability Inclusion 2021: Leaving No One Behind” is in line with the Government of Canada’s plan to build back better. The theme expands on the disability-inclusive approach, initiatives, and measures the Government has taken throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Canada works towards recovery the goal is that it will be inclusive for all, achieving a truly accessible and inclusive Canada that leaves no one behind. Accessibility is a priority for us in the work we do with candidates, customers, and employers every day. Some of the actions we have put in place include:
- A commitment to Accessibility and Accessible Customer Service and related policy and practices. Details of this can be found on our website at https://agilec.ca/accessibility/
- An Accessibility Champion who oversees accessibility and is available to consult on any related areas.
- A Multi-Year Accessibility Plan that focuses on requirements and areas of importance to Agilec so we remain a leader. The plan can be found on our website at https://agilec-18285.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Multi-year-accessibility-plan-Jan-2021.pdf
- An automated website accessibility tool (accessiBe) that utilizes various technologies to make it as accessible as possible at all times. An accessibility interface is used that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust our website’s user interface and design to their personal needs.
We encourage everyone to join in on the conversation and ask yourself: “how can I champion disability inclusion in my everyday life?”.
