Canadian Blast Freezers is a cold storage and meat processing facility, focusing on the production of pork products. As a production team member you’ll be working with the pork product in some format. We typically operate three major lines here, Picnic Line, DSP and Value Added.
The picnic line is a knife skill position, we train you on how to properly and safely use a knife to remove anything that would be considered ‘undesirable’ to our customers, such as bones, veins and glands. After everything is remove from our picnic shoulders we sometimes send it for further processing to our DSP room where we make diced seasoned pork. The last line you’ll see us operating is the value added line, where we can make pork chops or bacon, this is more of a machinery operated position. As a production team member you won’t be necessarily sectioned to one line, you have the ability to move to various lines and learn many different things.
The shift we are currently hiring for is a full time, permanent position. The hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm, on occasion we work 9 hour days working until 4:00pm. The starting rate for our production team members is $17.00/hr. After your 3 month probationary period you will also qualify for benefits, we work with CanadaLife to provide you 80% of medical / dental coverage, vision coverage and paramedical coverage (examples being physio, massage therapy, chiropractors etc).
