Job Duties:
Assist customers with product inquiries. This could involve retrieving the product for the customer either on the floor or in the warehouse, responding to questions or addressing any concerns.
Continual floor upkeep and maintenance: including sweeping, removing water (squeeging or mopping), removing any obstructing material etc…
Straighten and fill tables, shelves, racks and hooks with products either by retrieving new product from the warehouse, unloading trucks or re-organizing product currently in the retail store.
Clean up both the annual, market pot and tropical plant products so that they are marketable. This may involve removing dead, tired leaves and flowers, trimming plants, discounting product and/ or writing off older product.
Familiarize yourself with sales items and new product on a daily basis, in order to clearly communicate this information when requested. This includes walking around the area, identifying any sales signs and or/ new product signs, and ensuring that all items are clearly marked.
Price all products as required, this includes requesting and attaching stickers or labels to product, requesting and posting signs to identify prices, and continual review to ensure that all product in the greenhouse area is clearly priced.
Review soil shelf/bin in the greenhouse area and retrieve product from warehouse as required. Communicate to the warehouse supervisor if additional stock cannot be located so that it may be ordered.
Review plastic pot area and ensure all product is clean, straight and in the correct location. Restock the material in this area if required, and communicate to the warehouse supervisor if new stock cannot be located.
Review ceramic pot area and ensure all product is clean, straight and in the correct location. Restock the material in this area if required, and communicate to the warehouse supervisor if new stock cannot be located.
Review concrete area and ensure all product is clean, straight and in the correct location. Restock the material in this area if required, and communicate to the warehouse supervisor if new stock cannot be located.
Review coco liner/wicker area and ensure all product is clean, straight and in the correct location. Restock the material in this area if required, and communicate to the warehouse supervisor if new stock cannot be located.
Review clay pot area and ensure all product is clean, straight and in the correct location. Restock the material in this area if required, and communicate to the warehouse supervisor if new stock cannot be located.
Communicate to the grower in the company any watering concerns: dry product, plants that appear overwatered (root rot) etc..
Develop and/or assist with developing displays to market new/seasonal products.
Review yard sale area to ensure that all product is clearly priced, remove product that was erroneously placed there, and tidy the area to ensure that the product is marketable.
Complete at home assignments/training to educate yourself with the annuals, tropicals, bonsai’s, orchids, vegetables and herbs in the greenhouse area
Advise supervisor of any customer requests: products, concerns and share display ideas
Other duties as required
Conduct all activities in accordance to the health and safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:
Able to clearly communicate with customers and quickly understand and address their concerns and needs
Able to move, clean and re-organize both small and large products on a continual basis.
Easily interacts with others to ensure a productive environment.
