Job Title: Landscaper Departments: Various
Reports to: Departmental Foreperson Salary Range Code: B-E

Summary Statement
Under the supervision of the Department Foreperson, the incumbent will perform a variety of functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities may include;

• Work within Occupational Health & Safety guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas, including job site once work has been completed
• Operation of Company vehicles
• Ensure all loads in vehicles are secured and ready for transport
• Load and unload vehicle for assigned jobs
• Use of various manual and power tools and equipment
• Oversees a crew of up to 2 General Labourers
• Maintaining high morale and positive energy building a strong team dynamic
• Complete all checklists and Vehicle Inspection book
• Fueling and cleaning vehicle
• Ensure proper use of team PPE
• Coach subordinates of job tasks
• Liaise with executive team to ensure all projects are on time
• Point of contact for subordinates while in the field
• Align with JHSC on any and all incidents of loss occurring in the field
• Plans, assigns, and schedules daily tasks as needed
• May be required to design and assist in project planning with manager
• Monitor damages and repairs to all equipment as needed
• Source and advise on cost savings measures
• Ensure safety of all employees
• Operate all machinery with safety measure taken
• Complete safety analysis on job site
• Ensure all tools required are in operating order
• Oversees up to 5 Crew Leads
• Complete all tasks in a safe manner as assigned
• Report any unsafe situations
• Report any tools and equipment that are damaged or in need of repair
• Complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner
• Use of handheld manual and power equipment
• Complete high-quality work
• Use of push lawn mowers and riding lawn mowers
• Assisting in tree trimming, shrubs, and hedges
• Weeding and cultivating garden beds, trimming and edging where required
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
• Certificate in Carpentry, Automotive, Horticulture or equivalent work experience
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• G Class license as a minimum
• AR Class license required for advancement
• High attention to detail and process
• Ability to communicate effectively in various environments
• Strong problem-solving skills to navigate challenging or complex situations
• Able to work both independently and in a team dynamic
• Leadership skills are an asset
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers with working knowledge of computer software
• Ability to work in faced paced, physically demanding work environment
• Understanding of outdoor landscaping and maintenance
• High attention to detail and process
Physical Effort
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs, or 75lbs in a two-person lift
• Extended periods of time spent standing, squatting, kneeling
• Working outdoors in various weather
