The Packaging Team Member Role

This role starts at $17.50/hour

The term is June to October 2022, with a potential for extension.

Reporting to the Packaging Supervisor, the Packaging Team Member is at the heart of what we brew, ensuring quality product leaves our line every time! The enthusiastic, high-energy individual truly enjoys working in a team environment, while always looking for ways to improve.

Our ideal candidate is a team player with a strong collaborative spirit; enjoys getting involved in new ventures, creative mind set and is a great ambassador of Muskoka Brewery’s values and brand.

Key Responsibilities:

-Work all areas of canning, and kegging lines, as well as select bottling
-Load and unload items to and from machines, conveyors, and conveyances
-Inspecting the quality of raw materials, the products throughout the packaging process, and the finished goods
-Conduct off-line duties such as sub-assembly, production preparations, special packaging assembly, and preparing the finished goods for the warehouse
-Examine products to verify conformity to quality standards
-Lift raw materials, finished products and packaged items manually or at times using lift-assist equipment
-Complete packaging reports, as required
-Always maintain a safe and clean work environment, while complying with all procedures, regulations, and safety standards
-Promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards and incorporating proper body mechanics
-This position will actively participate in our safe operations by providing feedback and suggestions to the Packaging Supervisor, Operations Manager and the JHSC to contribute to the continuous improvements of our brewery

Role Requirements:

-Must be available and able to work early morning, afternoon and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays
-Strong attention to detail with good time management skills
-Good physical condition to meet the physical demands of the position (standing throughout the shift, repetitive task with task rotations, ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted)
-Positive spirit and excited to be working with a team
-With the continued pandemic and the widespread of the Omicron and Delta variant, and the infection rates and spread increased for those unvaccinated, all Muskoka Brewery employees are required to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine series (double vaccination or single dose of Johnson and Johnson) by March 21, 2022. For a two dose vaccine series, employees must receive one dose of COVID-19 vaccine by January 31, 2022 and/or two doses of COVID-19 vaccine by March 21, 2022. Proof of vaccination is required.

Working Conditions:

-Available to work in the Brewery Monday through Friday (Potential for Weekend and Holidays)
-Working in extreme heat and cooler temperatures
-Ability to stand and be active for long periods of time
-Manufacturing environment
