Job Duties:
• Utilize hand-held tools such as nail guns, staplers, and saws
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information
• Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select pre-assembled containers
• Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
• Nails covers on wooden crates and bin containers with metal tape, using strapping machine
• Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Collecting all material and equipment needed to begin the process
• Operate machinery used in the shipping process
• Operate fork truck or reach truck
• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
• Follow all company rules and policies
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on any given task
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards
• Work well with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 lbs. using a hoist)
• May be required to work an alternate shift
• Must be prepare and capable of working outdoors throughout each season
• Comply with all applicable OHS, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
• Any other duties as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor or Senior Leadership team
Salary: $18.50/hour plus Afternoon/Midnight premiums
