When three job seekers – Andrea, Brady, and Juel – all found themselves at a career crossroads, they sought assistance from our team. As young adults, each had faced various challenges in their job searches, but they all shared a common desire to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully to their community.
Although as individuals each lacked some of the skills needed for employment, they were eager to learn and build upon their abilities. With this in mind, their Employer Liaison and Employment Coach at Agilec arranged the opportunity for them to begin paid placements at Habitat for Humanity – Restore.
For Andrea, Brady and Juel, their time at Habitat for Humanity represents more than just a placement; it has been a transformative experience that has increased their confidence. They have grown significantly in their respective roles and learned valuable skills to aid them in their future endeavors. Due to her placement, Andrea feels well prepared to pursue a job in retail. Brady was placed in customer relations, where he developed a strong connection to the mission and people he served, aligning with his goal to enhance his relationship-building skills. And with the training and mentorship Juel received, she’s improved her communication skills and gained practical experience that can be applied to future roles.
As they prepare to move on to new jobs, this experience has set a solid foundation for their continued personal and professional development, and they are ready to face the next chapter of their careers with enthusiasm and hope.
