Aurelia came to Agilec with the goal of finding a retail or fast-food position. After being employed at Burger King and enjoying customer relations, she wanted to find a position where she could build upon her customer service and transactional skills in a different environment.
Understanding her specific needs and strengths, we collaborated with CANWiN (Canadian Partners Win) which promotes inclusive hiring and helps connect people with disabilities to accessible employers. Through their partnership with LCBO locations across the Greater Toronto Area and with the support of her Employment Consultant at Agilec, an opportunity emerged for Aurelia.
After completing a phone screening, Aurelia had an interview with the LCBO and a week later, she was offered a job for the summer! She used financial supports through our program to purchase new clothing and shoes for work and started her new job. Aurelia received one-on-one cashier and customer service training and had weekly check-ins from her Agilec Employment Consultant for retention support.
With summer over, Aurelia is now focused on her childcare assistant training. She continues to stay in contact with her Employment Consultant and knows Agilec is here to support her when she finishes the program and looks for employment once again, this time in her chosen field!
