Agilec is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Whitney, Ontario, furthering its commitment to delivering employment services in rural and northern communities. The office, set to open the week of July 7, will serve individuals and businesses within the Township of South Algonquin.

To better support the community, Agilec has hired two local Employment Consultants, Dana Boldt and Holly Hayes—both of whom were born and raised in Whitney. Their local knowledge and passion for helping others make them ideal advocates for residents navigating the job market or looking to hire.

“Our goal has always been to provide inclusive, accessible employment services where they are needed most,” said Laura Irwin, Project Director at Agilec. “By opening this office and hiring local talent, we’re investing in the future of South Algonquin and helping to build a stronger, more connected community.”

Agilec will be hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on July 11 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, located at 9 Post Street, Whitney, Ontario. All members of the public are invited to attend. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the team, tour the office, and learn more about the free services available to both job seekers and employers.

Funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario, Agilec provides a wide range of employment services across Ontario, including job search support, career coaching, training, and employer hiring assistance. The Whitney office is another step forward in ensuring that everyone has access to the tools they need to succeed in the workforce.

“We commend Agilec for their continued commitment to improving access to employment services in rural communities. The opening of the Whitney office demonstrates a thoughtful, community-driven approach to service delivery—one that aligns with our shared vision of inclusive, localized support. We are proud to support this important step forward for South Algonquin.” — Chantal Carré, Executive Director, Service System Manager – Northeastern Ontario
