Job Description
We are looking for a FT Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be flexible with working hours, physically capable, comfortable with navigating a smartphone handheld and most importantly exhibit safe driving practices and great customer service at all times.
Requirements
• Great personality with excellent communication skills (customer service very important).
• Professional appearance as you will be interacting with our customers/suppliers on a regular basis during deliveries and pickups.
• Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record a definite asset.
• Experience driving with a delivery trailer would also be a definite asset but not required as training will be provided.
• Able to demonstrate planning and care for moving furniture in tight, sometimes awkward spaces.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy merchandise with care on a regular basis. Able to lift and maneuver 50lbs regularly.
• Able to use mapping software, maps, or road atlas to locate, navigate and estimate drive times to customer locations to set reasonable expectations.
• Good time management and organizational delivery skills to accurately follow delivery and pickup schedules for the day.
• Able to maintain trip records (digital or otherwise) that show each stop during the day.
• Self-motivated, able to work well with little or no supervision, and a strong positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work afternoon and occasional early evenings and weekends, as required.
• Effectively work and communicate with a teammate. Work crews are usually 2 individuals, the driver and an assistant.
