Chef Manager & Sous Chef
This position is a live-in position located in beautiful Kearney ON.
We are looking for experienced Chef Managers & Sous Chefs needed to live and work at one of our Outdoor Education
Centres. G.B. Catering’s recipe for success is based on our rare philosophy of preparing high quality home cooking and baked goods. Over the years, we have remained strongly dedicated to bringing to our customers the best in everything we prepare.

• Compensation: Chef Manager starting at $1000 per week
• Compensation for Sous Chef starting at $900 per week.
Qualifications for Chef Manager
• Seeking a passionate and dynamic cook, that possesses leadership ability to lead, train and supervise students, while building a motivating working environment for a team of 2-4 kitchen staff.
• Administration and inventory control, including measuring quantities and placing food orders, are also part of the Chef Manager’s responsibilities, requiring considerable organizational skills.
• You will be G.B.’s designated representative on site, responsible for developing rapport and maintaining good relations to satisfy our clients’ needs.
• The Chef Manager must possess food handler certificate and a Red Seal is a asset – a minimum of 3-5 years of similar experience is required – and previous large quantity cooking experience is an asset.
Qualifications for Sous Chef
• This position works alongside the Chef Manager on food preparation and production.
• Assist with staff training and supervision – particularly on the Chef’s day off, when the Sous Chef is responsible for
overseeing the entire kitchen operation.
• Knowledge of homemade soups and sauces.
• Excellent knife skills, supervisory skills and good work ethic are expected.
• Enrollment in a culinary program and/or 2-3 years similar experience is required.
• Large quantity cooking experience preferred.
This is a full time position, with the perks of a school board schedule and part of the summer off. Position is to start immediately, ideal for people who enjoy the outdoors and new experiences.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent with a school board schedule with summers off.
Pay: $1,000.00-$1,100.00 per week Schedule:
• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed Experience:
• Cooking: 3 years (required)
• Managerial: 3 years (required) Licence/Certification:
• Red Seal (preferred)
• Food Handler Certification (required)
• VSC Police Check (required)
